Airborne soot is acidic and can start corroding metal fixtures within about 48 hours, which is why Soot Cleanup response speed matters as much as the cleaning technique itself.

Chemical sponges lift soot particulate instead of smearing it into the surface.
We match the cleaning method to the material, not the other way around.
Local Princeton Junction crews mean faster arrival before damage compounds.
HEPA vacuums capture fine particulate instead of recirculating it into the air.
The primary tool for lifting soot from porous surfaces like drywall and painted trim without smearing.
Fine soot particulate pulled from carpets, upholstery, and HVAC returns using HEPA-filtered equipment.
Tile, glass, and metal get a different chemical treatment than porous drywall and wood.
We prioritize metal fixtures early in the job since the corrosion clock starts immediately.
Ceilings get cleaned before walls, since falling particulate would otherwise recontaminate freshly cleaned wall surfaces.
We clean vents and returns as part of the same visit, not as a separate service call.
A technician answers and schedules the fastest available crew.
Mobile units are equipped for both porous and non-porous surfaces.
You approve the scope before any sponge or solvent touches a surface.
Cleaning proceeds surface by surface with a final walkthrough to confirm.
"We tried wiping the soot ourselves and just smeared it worse. Meridian Smoke Damage's sponge technique actually lifted it without streaking." — Homeowner, Princeton Junction
"Fast response meant the metal fixtures got treated before any real corrosion set in." — Homeowner, Princeton Junction, NJ
"HEPA vacuuming before the wet cleaning made a visible difference — the carpets came out cleaner than I expected." — Homeowner, Princeton Junction
Wiping smears fine particulate deeper into porous surfaces instead of lifting it out.
Ideally within 48 hours, since acidic soot residue starts pitting metal fixtures after that.
Yes, porous surfaces like drywall and non-porous surfaces like tile get different treatments.
Soot removal reduces odor but a dedicated odor treatment may still be needed for lingering smell.
Yes, HEPA vacuum extraction handles soft surfaces before any wet cleaning begins.
Same-day response is standard given how time-sensitive soot damage is.
We keep response times short across Princeton Junction specifically because soot corrosion is a time-sensitive problem.
